Good or Bad?!
There is no debate that technology and innovation are constantly redefining the world we live in. But is bringing this into our classrooms a good idea?

Do you have a pet dinosaur? You most likely answered “No”, because we now are living in the 21st Century. Today we are advancing in areas like technology that some people never thought were possible. I feel as educators we should be taking advantage of these improvements and educating our children to our full potential. Integrating technology into our classrooms can not only educate our children but interest them as well.
Outside of our classroom our students have technology at hand. They have video games, internet, Ipods, cell phones, and computers. It is becoming impossible to convince children that spending 8 hours at school without these “fun” pieces of technology is going to be better than sitting at home. I feel that if we bring this kind of technology into the classroom to educate our students they will not only learn but be interested in learning.
There are many ways to do this. I am a huge believer in books; however I feel there are many options when it comes to reading. Students shouldn’t have to carry home books each night, why not create a classroom website with the readings on it? Instead on making children read lesson after lesson why not use PowerPoint to introduce material. With PowerPoint you can include educational material, videos, games, charts, and pictures all in one. I am a believer in Iclickers (Take a Look!) to allow students to review and for the instructor to evaluate the students understanding.
